Armor Main Page

Equipped non-tattoo armor provides AC (Armor Class), which reduces damage. Armor starts with a base protection value and can be enchanted to provide further protection. These two numbers appear after the armor in brackets after the armor name, e.g. Elven gloves [3, 15]. (If the armor is unenchanted, only its base value will be shown, e.g. A Pair of Leather Boots [2].) Armor with no enchantment is called base armor.

Generally, determine armor damage reduction as follows. Multiply base AC by a random amount from 100-200%. Subtract this value from the damage. For physical damage, reduce the remaining damage by approximately 0.165% for each point of AC (including base value). For magic damage, only enchantment (plus value) reduces damage. Exception: Enchantments for Displacement Boots and the Mage Shield do not grant AC at all.

The order is MgS/AC/Endurance/Protection. That is the MgS gets used first, then AC, then Endurance.

Most pieces of armor will reduce dexterity and magic ability when worn. Double Chain Mail, for example, is notorious for this.

Many pieces of armor will increase stats proportionally to how much they are enchanted. Examples of this include Elven Gloves and the Cornuthaum.

You can pay to increase armor enchantments using the Blacksmith or forge armor yourself (Forging).

Armor that has been enchanted increases PR on a per-minion basis. The PR increase from Armors higher than base is determined by the armor's power weight and the armor's level of enchantment. Given a minion with power P, armor with enchantment N, and a power weight of W, the adjusted power of a minion is:
P * (1 + (W * N / 100))

Note that Tattoos take up two armor slots, but otherwise behave differently than armor.
